GARDEN OF WISDOM

WELCOME!

Living in today's world is not always easy.  We live in a fast-paced world where information and technology are growing at exponential rates and  never before has access to information been so easy to obtain and readily available.  The internet has become our new fountain of knowledge, yet knowledge alone is not enough.  We also need the wisdom and understanding in order to know how to apply it in our daily lives and in the endless choices and decisions that we face. Without wisdom, knowledge is futile.  So the search for wisdom becomes another important key to our success.

Freedom

To believe that freedom can exist without responsibility is an illusion.  Freedom is one of the greatest gifts that we have in this country, but if we wish to hold on to it, we must learn to treat freedom with respect.  True freedom cannot be obtained and held onto for very long if we make the choice to live our lives carelessly and without thought, or by feeding every desire and whim that arises within us.  This is not true freedom, but another form of slavery.  A person who abuses their freedom, eventually becomes entrapped and enslaved by their own desires.  And the worst illusion of it all, is that this same person still believes that they are free; blind to the prison they have created for themselves. 

Examining Our Motives

Sometimes, it is our own desires and expectations that keep us locked in an invisible prison of lack, and far away from joy and happiness.  Whenever we stake our happiness on something or someone outside of ourselves, we grant those external elements power over us and our own happiness.  We believe a lie that says that once we have obtained whatever it is that we desire, only THEN will we be happy; only THEN will we be free.  When we think this way, we fail to realize that we have just forfeited our PRESENT freedom and joy because we do not believe that we already have access to it.
