When tragedy strikes us, it can sometimes feel as if someone jerked the rug right out from under our feet. Any sense of stability that we felt we had is easily shaken and we may begin to question everything; we question why it had to happen, what we could have done to deserve this, how we are going to get through it, and we may question whether or not God even exists. And if we go on believing that He still does, we may have a difficult time recognizing His love and mercy towards us, when the tragedy might feel more like a punishment. But God IS still there for us.
